Privacy Policy

Summary: This platform stores no personal data. The search API processes only anonymous text queries with no personal reference. No user profiles are created, no tracking tools are used and no data is shared with third parties.

2. Server Logs

When visiting this website, the web server automatically logs the following data temporarily: IP address (anonymized), access timestamp, requested resource URL, HTTP status code, transferred data volume, browser and OS (User-Agent). This data is used exclusively for technical operations and deleted after at most 7 days. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation).

3. OCC Search API

This website uses a BM25 search infrastructure (opencognitioncommons.org/api/occ). The search function transmits only the entered search text as an anonymous HTTP request. No user profiles, search histories or personal data are processed. No requests are permanently logged. No data is shared with third parties. EU-hosted (Germany). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

4. Local Storage

This website uses localStorage (not cookies) exclusively to save your chosen reading level and color scheme (occ-level, occ-theme). This data does not leave your browser and is not transmitted to servers.

5. Analytics, Tracking & Social Media

We use no analytics or tracking tools (no Google Analytics, no Matomo, no pixels, no social media tracking). No behavioral analysis takes place. No social media buttons or third-party integrations are present.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
